Meet Sukhwinder Singh, PT
Sukhwinder is a physiotherapist who brings both clinical curiosity and genuine warmth to every patient interaction. Trained at All Saints College in India, he began working directly with patients from his third year of study, gaining hands-on experience in outpatient and occupational therapy settings under close faculty supervision. That early immersion in real-world care, combined with academic rigour, shaped the thoughtful, patient-centred approach he brings to Dusk Physiotherapy today.
He also gained valuable exposure in a charitable hospital setting, where a high volume of diverse cases helped him build practical skills early on. Sukhwinder enjoys the problem-solving side of physiotherapy and finds it especially rewarding to see patients make progress over time.

Understanding Your Condition, Not Just Treating It
From the very first appointment, patients can expect a strong emphasis on education. Sukhwinder takes time during the initial consultation to walk patients through their condition in detail: what is happening, why it is happening, and what steps they can take to support their recovery between sessions. He believes that patients who understand their condition are better equipped to avoid re-injury and make meaningful progress. His goal is to ensure everyone leaves that first visit feeling informed, not overwhelmed.
Because Sukhwinder sees patients a few times per week rather than daily, equipping them to manage their condition independently is a priority from the start. That sense of active participation, where patients feel confident taking care of themselves, is central to how he works.
A Whole-Person Approach to Recovery
Sukhwinder’s perspective on physiotherapy has evolved considerably over the course of his career. Early on, his focus was primarily on pain reduction and restoring physical function. Through clinical experience, that view has broadened significantly. He now considers the full picture of a patient’s life, including lifestyle, mental well-being, work demands, and personal circumstances, as important factors in guiding care and supporting long-term outcomes.
He also has practical experience in concussion assessment and support, having completed in-house training at CBI Health in Windsor. Through this training, he gained practical experience supporting patients with mild to moderate concussion cases, including those arising from motor vehicle accidents. He is currently pursuing further training in acupuncture to continue expanding his practice.
Life Outside the Clinic
When he is not working, Sukhwinder stays active in a variety of ways. He swims three to four times a week at a local recreational centre and practises yoga regularly, a habit he picked up after an injury and one that has since become a consistent part of his routine. He also incorporates strength training and enjoys spending time outdoors with family, particularly hiking, biking, and water-based activities.
Sukhwinder moved to Canada from India in 2021 and has built a warm community here. The family he found upon arriving has become a genuine support system, and he values the time spent with them as much as any other part of his life outside work.
