Steps in the Custom Fitting Process

The process begins with a complete biomechanical assessment. During your first visit, we evaluate your posture and analyze how it affects your walking pattern. We also check for any imbalances, including leg length discrepancies, foot deformities, and hip alignment issues. Watching your gait as you walk helps us catch subtle differences in weight distribution and balance.

The most important step is a 3D foot scan, performed while your foot is in a neutral, non-weight-bearing position to capture the natural curvature and alignment. This scan generates a precise model that’s used to design your custom insoles, complete with cushioning, support, and stability modifications.

Designed to Fit Your Shoes and Your Life

Our custom orthotics are crafted to fit into many types of footwear, from running shoes to casual boots and even narrower dress shoes. If necessary, we can customize the shape to accommodate different shoe styles, allowing you to keep the comfort without sacrificing versatility.

Get Your Special Insoles and Start Moving Better

Once your scan and prescription are sent to the lab, they take about seven to 10 business days to complete and ship back to us. You’ll then return for a fitting appointment, during which we ensure the orthotics work properly with your chosen footwear. This slow adjustment helps prevent muscle soreness and promotes a smoother transition.

To help your body adapt to the new alignment, we recommend a gradual break-in schedule:

  • Wear the orthotics for about 1 hour on the first day
  • Increase wear to 2-3 hours on the second day
  • Bump up to 3-4 hours on the third day
  • Continue increasing by small increments over the next several days until you’re able to wear them comfortably all day

Support That Stays with You

Custom orthotics typically provide reliable support for eight to 12 months, depending on your daily activity level. If you wear them full-time, we suggest renewing them each year. Older pairs can still be used in shoes you wear less often, giving you long-term value and consistent support.

Making Insurance Claims Easy

We provide the necessary prescription and paperwork to help streamline your insurance claim, making the process as easy and stress-free as possible.
